General information:

Taffy is very much your typical torti. It's not that she's scared or nasty or wild. Anything but. It's just that she is now and always has been a self opinionated little twerp. Unfortunately Taffy was born at the shelter before the big cat exercise yard had even been thought of. As a result whenever she and her little litter mates were let out for their daily dash about and all her litter mates played happily in the grass, Taffy dashed up the nearest tree, then promptly fell asleep. Taffy is still a tree dweller. The way she leaps from branch to branch makes me think she watched too much Tarzan as a kitten. The idea of confining her to inside a house is so far out there that it's impossible to even contemplate. If we did do the unthinkable and adopt her out, if she did manage to get out of the house, you'd never catch her and she is one cat who would be able to look after herself. All in all it's far safer for Taffy to remain at the shelter where she can be confined within the exercise paddock safely. There may well come a time when she's settled sufficiently to enable her to be adopted to the right person but that day has not yet come. Now we know that some other rescues may simply say well she's friendly and gets on well with cats and dogs just adopt her out and what happens next isn't our problem. Well sorry but it is. We have no intention of adopting out a little one who could very easily through no fault of her own or her adopter end up alone on the streets. Too much could go wrong. We don't rescue these cats in order to place them back in danger. And in Taffys case, at present, this is a high probability. If you'd like to sponsor Taffy and help with her day to day expenses please click on the Sponsor Me link at the end of this post and it will guide you through setting up the sponsorship the way you need it. Once everything has been set up please email Nat at and she will add you to our sponsors list and organise for a Sponsorship Certificate to be send to you. Thank you.
