PLEASE NOTE THAT NO VACANCIES EXIST UNTIL MORE ADOPTIONS HAVE TAKEN PLACE. THIS SITUATION IS NOT NEGOTIABLE.
IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON SURRENDERING A CAT, KITTEN OR LITTER OF KITTENS PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SURRENDER FEES APPLY TO HELP IN A SMALL WAY WITH THE COSTS OF VET CARE AND REHOMING.
FEES ARE: MALE CATS $85 FEMALE CATS $110
THESE FEES COVER THE BASIC VET COSTS OF THE NEW ARRIVAL AND ENSURE THAT YOUR CAT HAS A PERMANENT HOME UNTIL IT'S REHOMED TO A LOVING FAMILY.
Even the smallest donation can help to save a life and pay for much needed food and veterinary care for a stray, injured or abused cat or kitten. The shelter receives no funding and is entirely reliant of the generosity of people just like you who care about the safety and wellbeing of all animals.
If you find yourself unable to make a long term commitment to have a pet of your own at the present time, then you may like to select a particular cat or kitten and become it's sponsor. This gives you the opportunity to ensure that veterinary and on going care costs in relation to a particular cat are covered during it's stay at the shelter.
Sponsorship fees are either $40 per month or $450 per annum.
There is a section within the donations button once you begin to fill it in where you can select the name of the cat or kitten you want to sponsor. Once it has been adopted you will also receive a certificate of appreciation. Just think of a wall in your home filled with the beautiful faces of the cats or kittens that you personally have been responsible for helping to save.
BVCR aims to promote responsible cat ownership including microchipping and desexing.
All cats and kittens placed in my care will be found responsible, caring and permanent homes.
No cat or kitten will leave BVCR without being vet checked, microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.
All cats and kittens re-homed MUST be returned to me if there are any problems during the settling in stage.
My one wish is that one day I will no longer be needed.
As I receive no funding and all costs pertaining to the shelter are borne by me personally any donation no matter how small is genuinely appreciated. There are precious few NO KILL SHELTERS available for cats and an ever growing need. So please consider making a donation to help keep this one going - you never know your best friend may need it some day.
If you would like to provide a permanent, loving home for an abandoned, surrendered or abused cat or kitten and I have no adoptees currently available please contact any of the following welfare organisations and they will be only too happy to show you any animals currently available:
Unfortunately there are so many cats and kittens being abandoned on a daily basis that welfare organisations are being forced to turn away many new arrivals because there simply isn't any room available. Please help in any way that you can either through donatons or by volunteering your time to help look after the lucky ones who have made it onto the adoption lists.
If you are currently trying to find cat friendly rental accommodation please go to the following website and download the available software to make your search easier.
To make it more likely that you will find what you're after please follow a few simple rules.
Make sure that you tell your agent that getting cat friendly accommodation is of vital importance to you.
Make sure that you supply references from past landlords, neighbours and your vet showing that you are a reponsible pet owner.
Offer to sign a pet agreement that details the responsibilities of all parties.
Show that you use a cat enclosure to ensure that your cat does not wander and cause problems for neighbours.
Show that your cat is vaccinated, microchipped and desexed.
Remember that many landlords may have experienced problems with damage cause by irresponsible pet owners and if you can show that you have been a good tenant in the past you have far more likelyhood of success.

Thank you to Breeders Choice for their valuable contribution to assist in the rehoming of these beautiful cats and kittens. I believe that when companies are prepared to assist rescue groups, that we should all get behind their products. Some companies really do care about animal welfare and even in these tough economic times are prepared to assist where ever they can.
In the unfortunate event that you cat or kitten becomes lost please contact your local pound and leave all relevant details. Also contact the RSPCA and AWL Qld in case they have it reported as found or they may have collected it from a pound.
These websites are dedicated to finding lost pets in all Australian states.
